Play Date brings a hands-on puzzle to the everyday task of setting the date. Twist the cube to arrange the day, month and date, then return it to its wooden display case.
Sean Dempsey developed Play Date by combining his interest in puzzle cubes with the appeal of a daily challenge. He worked through the cube’s 54 visible squares to accommodate every date, tested the arrangement on a physical prototype, and collaborated with the Umbra Design Studio to bring the product into production.
Only the date-facing side needs to be completed. Once set, the cube rests in an ashwood case, angled for display and designed for easy removal.
The result is a perpetual calendar that invites a moment of play each morning.
